Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved medical assisting program
- CMA/RMA Certification maintenance of certification/licensure as required by state and/or PENTA
- Current CPR certification
Responsibilities
- Maximizing provider productivity;
- Supporting the accuracy of diagnoses and efficacy of treatment plans;
- Prepares patient for physician examination/treatment;
- Reduces patient anxiety and supports patient satisfaction goals;
- Ensures completeness and accuracy of medical record and supports complete and accurage charge capture;
- Provides and, if appropriate and allowed by law, bills for services and office visits that may not require the presence of a physician;
- Minimizes risk to patient, co-workers and self;
- Protects patient confidentiality and privacy;
- Keeps professional, clinical, and technical skills up-to-date;
- Contributes to patient-centered teamwork environment.
